CA countries, EU to sign memorandum on harmonization of relations in deliveries of gas
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Central Asian states and the European Union are planning to sign a memorandum on harmonization of relations in the sphere of gas deliveries. Director of the project of harmonization of standards and the accepted rules in gas sector in Central Asia, Azfar Shaukat, told Kazakhstan Today agency.

The final conference of the project will be in the autumn in Brussels, Belgium, the agency reported quoting Azfar Shaukat.

According to the chairman of the project, harmonization of gas sphere will lead the countries to a consensus, "as they will work or apply the same standards in their work."

The European Union is interested, first, in uninterrupted delivery of gas to Europe, and, second, unification of standards in accordance with the world and European standards.

The project is being realized by Mott MacDonald Ltd with the legal firm KLC and Eurasian Consulting SA within the limits of the program INOGATE and is financed by the European Union for the sum of 1.356 million euros.

The representatives of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are the participants of the memorandum. Tajikistan took part as an observer.
