By the end of 2021, the information system "Digital Agriculture" to be developed in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- 2020 has been declared in our country as the Year of Science, Education and Development of the Digital Economy, and large-scale work has begun in this direction. In particular, on 28 April, the President signed a resolution "On measures for the widespread introduction of the digital economy and electronic government."

In particular, 239 projects will be implemented in Uzbekistan for the digitalization of healthcare, cadastre, social protection, agriculture, education in 14 districts by the end of this year and in another 14 districts in the first quarter of next year.

The Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications was instructed to fully digitalize social institutions in 14 districts, and to form a model for the rest on their example.

As part of the development of telecommunications infrastructure, by the end of 2020, health care and preschool education institutions will be fully connected to the high-speed Internet network, as well as 80% of secondary schools.

At the same time, it is planned to triple the speed of international Internet channels and launch 2 data storage and processing centers with a total capacity of 100 Petabytes.

In accordance with the program for digital transformation of the agricultural and food sectors in 2020-2022, it is planned to implement 48 projects by 11 ministries, 32 departments and 5 business associations.

By 2020, due to the launch of a unified geographic information system based on satellite data, an agricultural area of 10,000 square kilometers will be covered, and in 2021-2022 – 250,000 square kilometers.

In addition, 90 digital water monitoring devices will be installed in the country's irrigation systems by the end of this year, as part of the Smart Water metering system introduced in the water sector, and more than 3,800 by the end of 2022.

By the end of 2021, the Digital Agriculture information system will be developed and more than 20 information systems will be integrated.
