Business Ombudsman requests clarification on restrictions for electric car imports
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The office of the Ombudsman for the Protection of Entrepreneurs' Rights in Uzbekistan has sent a request to the "Uzstandard" Agency regarding restrictions on the import of electric vehicles.
On 2 April, the press service of the Business Ombudsman reported on its Telegram channel that it is reviewing the concerns of entrepreneurs involved in the sale of electric cars and analyzing the situation in terms of compliance with the law.
The statement includes a link to a Facebook post originally published a year ago and re-shared on April 3. The post, issued on behalf of "over 400 car dealership managers," contains an appeal to the president to lift restrictions on electric vehicle imports and support a free market.
Deputy Business Ombudsman Jamshid Urunov discussed potential solutions to the issue with representatives of the Agency for Technical Regulation.
"In order to clarify the legal aspects of the issue, a request has been sent to the Agency for Technical Regulation of Uzbekistan," the statement reads.
