Business forum "Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan": a package of agreements for over US$1.6 billion signed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, following the results of the business forum "Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan", a solid package of agreements was signed totaling more than US$1.6 billion in the chemical, electrical, automotive, textile industries, agriculture, production of building materials, leather goods and other areas.

Here are the main documents:

1. The roadmap on cooperation in the field of agro-industrial complex was signed by the ministers of agriculture of the two republics;

2. Agreement on cooperation to create a production of textiles in Jalal-Abad region;

3. Agreement on cooperation in the production and processing of leather, as well as the organization of an agricultural class for growing potatoes in Naryn region;

4. Agreement on cooperation on the creation of an agroclass for the production of potatoes and a livestock complex;

5. Agreement on joint partnership within the framework of the investment project "Construction of a complex for the production of carbide and calcium in the Kyrgyz Republic". The amount of the contract is US$20 million;

6. Agreement for the supply of corn grain of the Kyrgyz Republic to Uzbekistan. The amount of the contract is US$100 million;

7. Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation on organizing the assembly of devices and electricity metering in the Kyrgyz Republic;

8. Memorandum for the production of a basalt stone processing plant;

9. Agreement on cooperation in the sale of products of Uzbek companies in the Kyrgyz Republic;

10. Contract for the supply of agricultural products from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan.

Over 50 documents totaling US$1.6 billion, including:

– investment agreements for US$300.3 million;

– export contracts for US$1,155.6 million.

– import contracts for US$223.0 million.
