Business circles of China’s Shaanxi province visit Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Shaanxi province of China paid a visit to Uzbekistan on 5-7 November 2012. The visit was organized by Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan to boost trade-economic and investment relations between Uzbekistan and China.

The delegation includes representatives of over 30 Chinese companies. The visit was aimed at developing trade-economic interaction between Uzbek and Chinese business circles, establishing mutual beneficial contacts with Uzbek businesses, and discussing opportunities on perspectives of bilateral ties.

Within the visit, the Uzbek-Chinese Business Forum and Cooperation Exchange were held in Tashknt on 7 November 2012.

The event was attended by representatives of companies, associations, large and small businesses.

At the forum, the Chinese businesses familiarized with privatization and reforms in economy, opportunities at Navoi free industrial and economic zone, implementation of joint projects.

The sides also discussed issues of further developing mutual beneficial relations among business circles of two states. Investment potential and economic development of two states were also presented.

At the end of the business forum, Navoi branch of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Department on assisting international trade of Shaanxi province of China signed an agreement of cooperation.

Business structures of Uzbekistan and China also signed agreements on supply of goods and equipment for US$41.35 million.

In line with trade-economic agreement between Uzbekistan and China, the most favourable trade regime was set. In 2011, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and China made up US$2.6 billion, of which US$1.302 billion fell to share of exports and US$1.294 billion – to imports.

Currently, there are 380 enterprises with Chinese investments in Uzbekistan, including 58 enterprises with 100% Chinese investments. They operate in such areas as production of construction materials, light industry, processing of agriculture products, etc.

About 65 Chinese companies accredited their offices with the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan. They operate in such areas as export-import operations, textile production, processing of agriculture products, ICT and others.
