Business assessed the state of the business climate in Uzbekistan — CERR survey

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) conducted the next round of the survey on the results of November this year, which was attended by 1000 entrepreneurs from all over the republic, representing different sectors of the economy. The results of the survey conducted by the CERR are published by the "Economic Review" Journal.

In November, the consolidated business climate indicator slightly decreased by 1 point compared to the previous month and amounted to 53, which assesses the state of the business climate in the country as positive.

The reduction of the consolidated indicator in November this year is partly seasonal. Similar changes were observed in the same period last year.

In particular, the decline in the consolidated indicator in November was mainly influenced by the dynamics in the industry and construction sector.

On the other hand, there has been a significant improvement in agriculture, and the service sector has not undergone any changes and continues to maintain fairly high indicators.

Almost half of business owners continue to note an improvement in the business environment, so 47% consider the current state of their business as "good" and only 10% rate it as "bad". 22% of companies increased the number of employees, and 46% noted an increase in demand for manufactured goods/services.

The indicator of expectations of business development prospects in the next 3 months, remaining at a fairly high level, amounted to 60 points, which is supported by high optimism in the field of agriculture – 74 points and services – 66 points.

The share of entrepreneurs expecting an improvement in the general condition of their business in the next 3 months has hardly changed – 70%, 53% expect a further increase in demand for goods and services, and 60% plan to increase the number of employees.
