Business Activity Index slips in January
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Business Activity Index of Uzbekistan APIC 100 made up 54.1 points in January 2012, which is 11.5 points less compared to December 2011 (65.6), the State Demonopolization Committee of Uzbekistan said.
Business Activity Index is higher than 50 points and this means favourable trends in development of business activity.
The forecasted figure for February 2012 was 69.5 points, which means restrained optimistic mood of the business entities.
The committee said that decrease of Index in January is connected with start of signing of new agreements for 2012 and seasonal demand factor.
Business Activity Index in industry sector (APIC 100) was developed in June 2010 and calculated based on survey of 100 large and medium businesses. The APIC 100 replaced the Index APIC 50 (based on survey of 50 enterprises).
The index is calculated based on 5 basic indicators, such as new orders, production volume and realization, employment and ready products at warehouse.
