Jasur Hasanov opened the scoring for Bunyodkor just before the break and Hayrulla Karimov and Jose Luis Villanueva sealed the win in the second half to move Scolari’s AFC Champions League quarter-finalists 20 points clear of city rivals Pakhtakor, who have two games in hand.
Eighth-placed Andijan, who are coached by former Bunyodkor coach Amet Memet, saw their five match winning run ended. After Bunyodkor midfielder Sahob Juraev rattled the Andijan crossbar after 27 minutes, the home side finally broke the deadlock ten minutes before the break Anvar Soliev capitalised on a moment’s hesitation from defender Zurab Zamsashvili to set up Hasanov.
Andijan goalkeeper Igor Mikhaylov kept his side within touching distance at the start of the second half but the home side finally doubled their advantage just before the hour mark as Brazilian full-back Edson Ramos crossed for Karimov to head home. And with 13 minutes remaining Rivaldo found Villanueva and the Chilean striker made no mistake to seal the three points.
