Bukhara region’s economy increases by 9.6% in 2010
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Gross regional product of Bukhara region of Uzbekistan increased by 9.6% in 2010, a session of local MPs said.

State-run UzA agency reported that the region’s industrial output rose by 10.3%, agriculture production – 7.8%, construction works – 14.2%, paid services – 18% and export – 59.2%.

Within the programme on improving regional industrial potential, Bukhara region attracted investments for 15.6 billion soums and US$47.1 million. The region started to produce 27 new products.

Eight enterprises, included to localization programme, produced goods for 26.7 billion soums, which allowed to save about US$16 million hard currency.

The session of local MPs said that share of small businesses and private entrepreneurship in gross regional product of Bukhara region made up 64.1%.

In the reporting period, the volume of loans, issued to real sector of economy, rose by 31.4% or 72.4 billion soums. The volume of banking investments, issued to small businesses, rose 1.3 times. At the same time, share of microloans made up 27.8 billion soums.

Within the employment programme, over 73,000 new jobs were created in Bukhara region, of which 39,000 fell to share of small businesses and farms.
