British diplomat, symphonic orchestra to give concert in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A symphonic orchestra, consisting of 70 young talented Uzbek musicians and a British diplomat will perform a concert of British music at the State Conservatoire of Uzbekistan on 22 May 2013.

The British Embassy in Tashkent and the Friendship Society "Uzbekistan - United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" with the support of Rio Tinto Mining and Exploration Ltd., are delighted to be organising “An Evening of British Music in Tashkent” concert at the State Conservatoire of Uzbekistan. The concert programme will include works from six famous British classical music composers ranging from the 18th to 20th centuries.

About two hundred guests, including fans of classical music, officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps and the business community will be able to enjoy the performance given by the young musicians – students of the State Conservatoire and Ms Charlotte Waller, Second Secretary of the British Embassy, who has joined the orchestra for this occasion and who will be playing the cello.

Several young talented conductors, all winners of numerous national and international musical contests and festivals, including Mr Aziz Shokhakimov, Mr Suhrob Radjabov, Mr Ruslan Bek and nine year old Mr Edward Yudenitch (one of the youngest conductors in the world) along with Prof. Vladimir Neymer, one of the most experienced and famous Uzbek conductors, will be leading the orchestra during the concert.

Speaking on the eve of the concert and after attending the final rehearsal at the Conservatoire, the British Ambassador George Edgar said: “I know that you have been rehearsing hard for last several weeks in order to impress your audience with a great music show. I wish you luck and have no doubts that the concert would be a success”.
