The Uzbek President Islam Karimov signed a resolution “On measures on further improving activity of the Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after Gubkin in Tashkent city”.

The document was adopted for further improving system of training high skilled specialists for oil and gas sector of Uzbekistan, improve quality of education process based on introduction of modern pedagogical technologies.

According to the document, Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after Gubkin in Tashkent was included to structure of Uzbekneftegaz, while education process will be kept by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan.

It is also planned to organize educational courses, programmes of re-training and improving skills of oil and gas specialists, as well as related areas.

The educational establishment will train specialists in such areas as Geophysical methods of research and exploration of natural resources, Geophysical methods of research of wells, drilling of oil and gas drills, development and exploitation use of oil and gas fields, economy and service of oil mining objects.

It will also train specialists in such directions as Exploitation and service of gas mining objects, gas condicsate and underground depots, machinery and equipment of oil and gas fields, designing, constructing and using gas and oil pipelines and gas and oil depots, equipment for gas processing, automatization of technologic process and chemistry technologies of natural energy resources and hydrocarbon materials.

Branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after Gubkin in Tashkent city was founded in line with the presidential resolution from 12 January 2007.

The main goal of the branch is to train high skilled specialists for oil and gas industry of Uzbekistan in line with Russian university’s curriculum and common international requirements.
