Boxer Hasanboy Dusmatov wins gold medal at Universiade
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan national team clinched its first gold medal at the World Summer Universiade in Kazan, Russia.

Uzbek boxer Hasanboy Dustmatov won the gold medal at the weight category of up to 49 kg. He defeated Inkui Kim from South Korea in final bout.

At the weight category of up to 60 kg Fazliddin Gaibnazarov lost to Russia’s Adlan Abdurashidov and claimed the silver medal.

Hurshidbek Normatov also won the silver medal of the Universiade, losing to Andrei Zamkovoy of Russia in the final.

At the weight category of up to 69 kg Azizbek Abdugofurov lost to Dmitry Mitrafanov of Ukraine in the final bout and also claimed the silver medal.

Rustam Tulaganov could not fight against Yevgeniy Tishenko of Russia due to injury at the weight category of up to 91 kg. He also won the silver medal.

Jasurbek Latipov (-52 kg), Elshod Rasulov (-81 kg) and Mirzohidjon Abdullaev (over 91 kg) lost in semifinals and won bronze medals of the Games.

Uzbekistan’s Ulugbek Alimov lifted 351 kg in weight lifting at the weight category of up to 77 kg and won the silver medal of the Student Games.

Currently Uzbekistan clinched 15 medals, including a gold, seven silver and seven bronze medals.
