BOMCA Programme handed over radio equipment to border guards committee of Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The EU-UNDP BOMCA Programme handed over radio equipment to the Border Guards Committee of the National Security Service of Uzbekistan.

The equipment, radio communication units for the amount of about 141 thousand Euro, will be used at the Andarkhan-Avto International Border Crossing Point (BCP)at the Uzbek-Tajik border and other BCPs located at vulnerable directions of drug traffic. The equipment was procured under the seventh phase of the BOMCA Programme.

BOMCA is partnering with the following beneficiary entities in Uzbekistan: the Border Guards Committee under the National Security Service, the Customs Committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources.

The overall objectives of BOMCA are to help increase security in the Central Asian region, to contribute toward the facilitation of legitimate trade and transit, and to reduce the illicit movement of goods and people.

The EU-UNDP BOMCA assistance programme is funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP.
