Bobokulova and Isroilov Advance to Semifinals at World Boxing Tournament in Liverpool

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On another day of the World Boxing Championship in Liverpool, three members of the Uzbekistan national team competed in the quarterfinals.

Sabina Bobokulova, competing in the under-48 kg category, convincingly defeated Italy’s Giovanna Marcheni with a 5:0 score, securing her place in the tournament semifinals.

In the under-50 kg category, Shodiyorjon Melikuziev lost to Japan’s Soushi Makino with a close 2:3 score and was eliminated at the quarterfinal stage.

In the under-85 kg category, Akmaljon Isroilov dominated Spain’s Ricardo Fresnado with a 5:0 victory, advancing to the semifinals and continuing his fight for a medal at the World Championship.
