Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The fifth meeting of the European Union and Central Asian Special Representatives and Envoys on Afghanistan was held on 13-14 February 2024 in Bishkek, the Kyrgyz Republic. 

The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Afghanistan and Head of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan Roza Otunbayeva also took part in the meeting.  Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev took part in this meeting.

The participants discussed current developments in Afghanistan and the UN-led process ahead of the second Doha meeting.

They also held an online exchange of views with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and diplomatic missions of the Central Asian countries and diplomatic missions based in Kabul.
