Birth rate in Uzbekistan makes up 22.7 pro mil in 2010
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-December 2010, the birth rate in Uzbekistan was 22.7 pro mil and decreased by 0.7 pro mil compared to the same period of 2009 (23.4 pro mil), the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

As earlier reported, number of permanent population of Uzbekistan made up 28,234 million at the end of 2010, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

The committee underlined that number of permanent population of Uzbekistan increased by 1.7% year-on-year.

Number of able-bodied citizens grew by 2.4% year-on-year to 17.157 million in 2010, the committee said.

Mortality
In the reporting period the death rate was 4.9 pro mil or increased by 0.1 pro mil compared to the same period of 2009.

Out of the total number of the dead 61% died of cardiovascular diseases, 7.4% – neoplasms, 6.4% - accidents, poisonings and traumas, 6.3% - respiratory diseases.

According to the preliminary data in January-December 2010, 7,200 children died at the age under one year. The infant mortality rate decreased from 11.7 pro mil in January-December 2009 to 10.9 pro mil in January-December 2010.

Out of the total number of children died at the age under one year, 50.7% died of states occurring in perinatal period, 34.4% - respiratory diseases, 7.6% - congenital anomalies and 3.4% - infectious and parasitic diseases.

Marriages and divorces
In January-December 2010, 285,400 marriages and 19,000 divorces were registered in Uzbekistan. There were 10.1 marriages (in 2009 – 9.8) and 0.7 divorces (in 2009 – 0.6) per 1000 population.

Migration
According to the preliminary data in January-December 2010 the number of immigrants was 140,000 and emigrants – 179,600.

The highest migration of population was marked in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (immigrants – 13,700, emigrants – 25,400), Tashkent region (immigrants – 15,900, emigrants – 27,700) and Tashkent city (immigrants – 16,200, emigrants – 16,100).

The balance of migration was minus 39,600 in 2010 versus minus 49,600 in 2009, the committee said.
