Beijing school celebrates Uzbek and Chinese culture
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Vanhualu School in Beijing played host to a cultural event organized by the Fund Forum. The event featured performances by Vanhualu students and their peers from Uzbekistan attending schools in Beijing. Held on October 31, the concert is seen as a contribution to stronger Uzbek-Chinese ties.

The colorful and energetic performance by Uzbek talented children was an opportunity for Chinese children and their parents as well as teachers to see the wealth of Uzbek arts and culture. The concert demonstrated traditional costumes from various regions of Uzbekistan, national and contemporary dances as well as a piano performance.

In their turn, Vanhualu students presented music performances on the accordion, the bugle and Chinese national instruments such as the bamboo flute, and sang songs of various Chinese nations.

The concert concluded with the song “Uzbekistan”, which brought together Uzbek and Chinese children on the stage, demonstrating the friendship of the two nations.

The director of Vanhualu School, Din Xiaohuwei, said this cultural dialog between China and Uzbekistan is a significant contribution toward cultural exchange and fosters friendship and cooperation between the two nations. He added that the two countries have a lot in common in terms of culture as both Uzbekistan and China – ancient countries located on the Silk Route –maintained mutual links in days gone by and continue to do so at present.

In the words of Din Xiaohuwei, children in Uzbekistan will have the opportunity to see over a hundred artistic works by Vanhualu students which will be on display during the 3rd International Biennale of Children`s Art to be held in Tashkent from November 20 to December 2, 2010.
