Beeline subscriber base decreased by 18.5% over the year

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Beeline’s subscriber base in Uzbekistan in the third quarter of 2020 decreased by 18% or 1.6 million customers. This was stated in the report of the VEON.

According to the company, in the third quarter of 2020, the subscriber base of Beeline made up 6.8 million people against 8.4 million in the same quarter of 2019.

The VEON report highlights that the number of mobile data users fell from 5.3 million to 4.7 million (-12.2%) in the reporting period.

The company’s revenue fell by 17.1% in the third quarter of 2020 compared to the same period of 2019 - from 593.7 billion soums to 492.1 billion soums. In the first nine months of 2020, this figure fell by 11.9% - to 1.49 trillion soums.

Revenue in the mobile segment in the third quarter of 2020 exceeded 488 billion soums, which is 17.1% less compared to the same period of 2019. In January-September, this figure decreased by 12.1% - to 1.47 trillion soums.

Revenue from data transmission services in the third quarter exceeded 266 billion soums (+1.9%) and in nine months of 2020 - 818 billion soums (+7.3%).

EBITDA (operating profit before depreciation of fixed assets, amortization of intangible assets and losses associated with depreciation of assets) in Uzbekistan in the third quarter of 2020 made up 58.9 billion soums, which is 81.9% less compared to the same period of 2019. EBITDA in nine months of 2020 decreased by 43.3% - to 503 billion soums.

At the same time, the marginality of operations fell from 54.7% in the third quarter of 2019 to 12% in the same period of 2020 and from 52.3% in the nine months of 2019 to 33.7% in January-September 2020.

The average bill per one mobile subscriber per month (ARPU) reached 23,087 soums in the third quarter of 2020, which is 2.8% more compared to the same period of 2019.

MOU (the number of minutes used per subscriber per month) made up 694 minutes in the third quarter of 2020 compared to 624 minutes in the same period of 2019 (+10.3%).

Data usage per user grew by 84.2% in the third quarter of 2020 to 4192 MB.
