Beeline launches LTE network in Astana before OSCE Summit
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- KaR-Tel (Beeline trademark) launched outdoor 4G network on the base of LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology with use of 700 megahertz diapason in Astana, Kazakhstan.

New administrative and business center of Astana is covered with 4G network. The operator received to text exploitation of 4G network in Astana from 24 November to the end of the Seventh Winter Asian Games (the first week of February 2011).

KaR-Tel director-general Anatoliy Popov said: “From today 4G communication is available in capital of Kazakhstan. Our company implemented order of Prime Minister on ensuring OSCE summit with 4G communication. Availability of the most advanced technology in Astana will show foreign guests the level of development of telecommunication industry in Kazakhstan.”

Beeline LTE network, launched in Astana, can ensure maximal download speed of 60 Mbps and upload speed 15 Mbps. The average download speed is 8-10 Mpbs and upload speed – 2-4 Mbps.

In April 2010, Beeline became one of the first operators in the CIS, which launched demonstration zones of LTE network in Astana and Almaty. In October 2010, Beeline made pilot launch of LTE network in business center of Kazakhstan – Almaty. Alcatel-Lucent supplied equipment.
