Beeline launches 4G network into commercial use
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Largest communication operator of Uzbekistan, Beeline, (Unitel LLC and Buzton JV) launched 4G network for commercial use on the base of LTE technology in Tashkent city.

Beeline became the first operator in Uzbekistan, which launched 4G network into commercial exploitation in the country.

Unitel CEO Alexander Vorobyov said: “New technologies along with other factors ensure sustainable development of the country and society, and we are proud to do such an important step these days, when the whole Uzbekistan celebrates the anniversary of Independence. I am confident that the launch of the first commercial LTE network in the country will go down in history not only of our company, but also the whole telecom industry. Leadership, reliability and innovation distinguish Beeline work, and these are the values that embody 4G standard”.

He said that currently LTE network of Beeline covers 10% of territory of Tashkent. He added that the operator plans to cover Tashkent city fully with 4G network by the end of 2015. Next year Beeline also will start to deploy 4G network in Samarkand. In 2016, the operator is planning to rollout 4G network in the regions of Uzbekistan.

Monthly subscription fee for unlimited internet on LTE technology for individuals makes up US$1,200 and for legal entities – from US$700. The legal entities should pay deposit to subscribe to high speed Internet.

Beeline said that Huawei Technologies provided equipment to Beeline to develop its 4G network.

I have no doubt that in the near future 4G will obtain a wide circulation through new tariffs and services".

Beeline launched 4G network in test mode in February 2012. The operator needed 2.5 years to launch 4G network into commercial exploitation.

LTE technology is the main direction of the third generation cellular networks evolution. Today 4G provides the speed of mobile broadband services at maximum speed up to 70 Mbps.
