The capital expenditure of Beeline in Uzbekistan, invested to purchase fixed assets, equipment and technologies, made up US$227 million in 2013 against US$137 million in 2012 (+65%). In the fourth quarter, the capital expenditure rose by 58% year-on-year to US$68 million.
Unitel Director-General Alekxandr Vorobyev said that 2013 became the record year on the volume of investments to development of business. The company had several tasks on improving quality of offered services and the operator solve large part of them successfully thanks to wide-scale investments into expanding network and communication lines.
He said that large part of the investments fell to last quarter of 2014 and millions of subscribers from various regions of Uzbekistan already feel it. He said that the company will continue to invest to improvement of communication quality and level of services.
In 2013, Beeline strengthened its position as a leader with subscribers base of 10.518 million people.
