Beeline expands GSM and 3G networks in Bukhara region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Single communications operator Beeline (Unitel LLC and Buzton JV) expanded coverage area of its GSM network in Bukhara region of Uzbekistan.

Gulyam Artykov, director of Southern-Western regional branch of Unitel, said that this year construction of new bases is directed at increasing capacity of the network and coverage of new areas. He said that this will allow to ensure quality of Beeline communication service at high level and strengthen its positions in Bukhara. Besides, in next two months 3G network will be launched in Bukhara city and several districts.

Installation of additional equipment allowed to improve radio coverage in Bukhara city and Romitan, Shofirkon, Peshkun and Alat district. It also expanded capacity of the network in Bukhara region.

Unitel was founded in 1996. The company started commercial activity on 25 September 1997. Currently, it is one of the leaders among GSM-operators in Uzbekistan. At the end of third quarter of 2010, the company had over 4.4 million subscribers. On 9 February 2006, Unitel became part of VimpelCom Group, one of the largest mobile communication operators in Russia and CIS. On 12 September 2006, Unitel started to render services under Beeline brand. On 2 December 2008, Unitel announced about commercial 3G network.
