Beeline directs 370m to charity events in 1H
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Single communication operator Beeline (Unitel LLC and Buzton JV) directed 370 million soums for charity events in the first half of 2010.

The operator said that corporate social responsibility and charity is part of Beeline strategy in Uzbekistan. The company supports sport, education and culture, as well as conducts humanitarian actions, directed at supporting children, elder people and disabled people. In particular, Beeline supported charity marathon dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the World War II Victory. The event was started in Tashkent, where special receipt was organized for veterans, and continued other large cities of Uzbekistan with wide-scale action “Call to brother-officer”.

Chairperson of Nuroniy Fund Erkin Bakibaev said: “We highly rate attention, which Beeline pays to war veterans. I want to congratulate the company for initiative and support in organization of events on behalf of all veterans.”

The company serves millions of subscribers in Uzbekistan and Beeline has offices in all regional centers. The company helps to beautify territories in places with local administrations.

Andrei Safronyuk, Unitel director-general said: “During operation of Beeline in Uzbekistan, we have formed vision and culture of social responsibility. We are proud for contribution, which our company makes to achieve sporting victories of the country, sponsoring Fund for Child Sport Development and such projects as Student Games 2010 in Andijan. There is also sad reasons for charity events, for example, aid of Beeline to refugees from Kyrgyzstan, who found shelter in Uzbekistan.”

The operator underlined that the company’s employees participate in many charity events. One of the last examples is Gift a Life project, within which several Unitel and Buzton employees fulfill list of blood-donors.
