More than 300 fans had come out to the legendary Ilkhom Theater, usually home to all contemporary performances in Tashkent, to see the first-ever B-Boys battle in Uzbekistan for the coveted title of Red Bull BC One Champion. Uzbek B-Boys demonstrated their skills and thrilled the audience, and B-Boy Felix won the place in Central Asian Cypher in Astana.
Sixteen B-Boys fought in one-on-one battles while their skills were judged by a jury that involved two massive figures of global B-Boying – Red Bull BC One All Star and Red Bull BC One World Champion Hong10 and Bootuz (Red Bull BC One 2007 Russian Champion), and Pluto (winner of the Red Bull BC One Ukraine Cypher 2012).
The venue was crowded with more than 300 B-Boying fans, who created a fantastic atmosphere. At the very beginning, performances of jury members heated the room up. The host of the evening was a popular Uzbek MC Sema, while DJ Black was masterful in taking care of music and beats for competitors. Red Bull BC One UZ Cypher 2014 featured a number of interesting and splendid programs alongside the breack-dance competition, including a beatbox performance and dance performance from Zlotnikov & Co.
B-Boy Felix and his best friend wild card keeper B-Boy J-Funky will represent Uzbekistan on May 17 in the Central Asia Cypher held in Astana, Kazakhstan. They will compete with other B-Boys and B-Girls winners from 4 Central Asian countries, with dreams held high to compete in the Red Bull BC One World Final held in Paris on November 29.
The day before the competition, judges held a workshop with young local breakers, which represented a huge motivation for them. All together, a big push forward for Uzek B-Boys and the whole Hip Hop community.
