“Bazar-Art” Applied Art Fair just days away
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On March 23, the Center of National Arts will welcome the public to attend “Bazar-Art 2011” Applied Art Exhibition-Fair, one of the most frequented art shows in Tashkent, organized by the Fund Forum and IJOD Association of Artists, Art Historians and Craftsmen.

On March 25, the event will host an awards ceremony for the winners of the exhibition as well as of the Pedagogical Grants Program, a project devised by the Fund Forum in an effort to support educators in Uzbekistan.

“Bazar-Art” Exhibition-Fair - is one of the most colorful cultural projects run by the Fund Forum twice a year at the Center of National Arts. The exhibition brings together the foremost masters and craftsmen from all over the country, among them crafts dynasties as well as young artisans and rising talents. The project is given the goal of highlighting the creative potential in traditional and contemporary applied arts, demonstrating to the general public the most striking trends in the area, supporting creative dynasties and talented craftsmen as well as preserving and boosting the national legacy. Also, as part of the event, the Fund Forum presents grants to craftsmen who emerge as winners of Bazar-Art Exhibition-Fair.

Set up in 2006, the Pedagogical Grants Program is aimed at helping teachers to improve their pedagogical activities and methods, supporting their creative endeavors, providing financial support for teachers in secondary and higher educational institutions and researchers through making available monthly and one-off grants. As many as 2,500 teachers have participated in the program since 2006, with around 200 emerging as winners. Over 250 mln soums have been provided in grants since the inception of the project.
