Banks invest 275bn soums to bankrupt enterprises

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Commercial banks of Uzbekistan invested over 275 billion soums to technical re-equipment and modernization of bankrupt-enterprises, the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov said at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers on 19 January 2012.

Uzbek leader said that non-standard approach, which Uzbekistan introduced to rehabilitate economically insolvent enterprises, handing them to balance of the banks, fully justified itself and showed its efficiency.

He said that 156 out of 164 bankrupt enterprises rehabilitated their production activity and 110 of them were realized to new investors.
