Banks allocate loans for 225 billion soums to students in 4.5 years

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Commercial banks of Uzbekistan issued educational loans to 72,000 students for over 225 billion soums in the 4.5 years, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said.

In the first six months, some 11,106 students received educational loans for 35.7 billion soums, the regulator said.

The commercial banks are allocating preferential long-term loans for students. Students, studying for Bachelor degree, can receive loans for 10 years and Master degree – 5 years.

There are also preferences for students of Mehribonlik houses, children with special needs, low-income families, and others.
