Bakhtiyor Ashurmatov started his coaching career in 2012. He became head coach of Gulistan and helped to promotion to Oliy Liga. But this season, Gulistan relegated to the First League.

Ashurmatov is currently studying for PRO license. He signed a year agreement with Bunyodkor. He will assist Mirjalol Kasimov in his work at the club.

Former Uzbekistan defender said that he plans to go to abroad to improve his skills and may become head coach of the Oliy Liga club if there is any offer.

Bakhtiyor Ashurmatov played for Bunyodkor in 2007-2009 and played 62 matches for the club. He won Uzbekistan league and cup during this time.
