Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Shaykh Khalid Bin-Ahmad Bin-Muhammad Al Khalifah’s visit to Uzbekistan has been completed. The Bahraini minister spoke about results of his visit to our country in an interview with the Jahon news agency.

-- Your Excellency, this is your first visit to Uzbekistan. How would you describe the main goals and tasks of your visit to our state?

Shaykh Khalid Bin-Ahmad Bin-Muhammad Al Khalifah: We attach great significance to this visit. This year, Uzbekistan and Bahrain will mark the 15th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

I was honoured to be met by Uzbek President Islom Karimov - one of the most enlightened leaders of the Muslim world - who protects his people and creates opportunities for his country’s further progress.

The main goal of our visit to Uzbekistan was to establish bilateral cooperation between our peoples on the basis of friendship and mutual respect.
