Azerbaijan hosts conference on trade and investment development among Turkic states

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14 February, Azerbaijan became the focal point of a major business event of great significance for the Turkic world.

The conference, organized by the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF) and the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkic States (TCCI), was held under the auspices of the Azerbaijan Confederation of Entrepreneurs (ASK).

The forum brought together representatives of member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), including a delegation from Uzbekistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as government officials, diplomats, entrepreneurs, and investors.

Key discussions focused on investment opportunities, strengthening business cooperation, developing regional economic ties, supporting women entrepreneurs, and enhancing investment flows among Turkic states.

During the conference, a memorandum of strategic cooperation was signed between TIF and TCCI, aimed at further expanding business and investment collaboration.

Established within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States under the agreement signed in Ankara on 16 March 2023, the Turkic Investment Fund officially commenced operations in 2024. In Azerbaijan, its establishment was formalized by law, signed by the country’s president on 30 May 2023.

The fund is expected to finance infrastructure, trade, and small and medium-sized business projects, creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs and strengthening trade ties among Turkic nations.

One of the key outcomes of the event was the announcement of a 20% increase in TIF’s authorized capital to US$600 million. This expansion will enhance the fund’s financial capacity, providing greater support for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises while stimulating trade and entrepreneurship in the region.

A significant initiative proposed by Uzbekistan was the organization of a Turkic Women Entrepreneurs Forum in Karakalpakstan in May 2025. The event aims to strengthen the role of women in the economic development of the Turkic world.

Additionally, the conference featured B2B meetings, where participants explored promising areas for cooperation and reached agreements on new investment projects.
