Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairman of the Uzcharmsanoat association Fakhriddin Boboev met with the director of the Auchan Retail Russia department of the French Auchan corporation Pierre Cardelli.

At the meeting, issues of placing finished leather shoes, textiles, electrical products produced in Uzbekistan in more than 230 Auchan retail outlets in the Russian Federation, implementing an educational program in the field of commerce and creating a sourcing company in our country were discussed.

At the beginning of the meeting, foreign guests were provided with information about the reforms implemented in the leather and footwear industry of our country in recent years, production, investment and export potential. The guest was also told about the customs benefits and tax preferences provided by the state, as well as logistics opportunities.

Auchan Corporation was founded in 1961 in France. The main activity is the organization of wholesale trade. By the end of 2023, the corporation includes 2,321 hypermarkets and supermarkets, 278 franchise stores in more than 17 countries. Cooperation with this corporation will make it possible to place products manufactured in Uzbekistan not only in retail outlets located in Russia, but also in Asia and Europe.

During the negotiations, the head of the Auchan department noted that products produced in our country are becoming more and more competitive in both price and quality. In this vein, the guest expressed the corporation’s readiness to establish cooperation in this direction. It was also proposed to place shoes, leather and fur products in more than 230 Auchan shopping centers in the Russian Federation in cooperation with enterprises in the leather, footwear and fur industries of Uzbekistan.

During the dialogue, the parties discussed issues such as establishing work with large retail chains and organizing an educational program to improve the skills of local enterprises in creating supplies.

As already mentioned, today not only Auchan Retail Russia is interested in the products of Uzbekistan. The opportunity to cooperate with Auchan Retail Europe also opens up for enterprises in the leather and footwear industry. It was noted that the European network of the corporation also intends to establish contacts if cooperation with the Russian Federation proves to be effective.

Representatives of Auchan Retail Russia also visited Uzbek enterprises in the leather and footwear industry, where they got acquainted with production processes and product quality.
