ATTO gathers key market players at the conference "Digitalization and Prospects for Public Transport Development"
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 15 April, Tashkent hosted the industry conference "5 Years Together," organized by ATTO, the national payment platform for public transport.
Representatives from the banking sector, payment systems, transport operators, and government agencies participated in the event.
The forum was dedicated to the company's five-year anniversary and served as a platform for discussing strategic directions for modernizing Uzbekistan's transport infrastructure. As part of the business program, industry experts presented reports on digital innovations in mobility and financial technologies.
ATTO has played a significant role in the digitalization of fare payments, contributing to the transition to cashless transactions in public transport. Currently, the system operates in the largest cities of the country, reducing reliance on cash, optimizing passenger flows, and creating new opportunities for carriers and financial organizations.
Initially launched as a pilot project, the ATTO platform has evolved over five years into a large-scale ecosystem that integrates bank cards, QR payments, and both state and private transport companies. This experience has become a successful example of public-private partnership in the fintech and transport sectors.
Ilkhomzhon Abdugafarov, Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan, said: "Digitalization is a key element in the transformation of the transport industry. The implementation of modern technologies allows the creation of intelligent systems that improve the accessibility of services and the quality of customer service. Automated payment solutions, mobile applications, and smart traffic management systems open new opportunities for all market participants."
Davron Shoyokubov, Executive Director of ATTO, stated: "Our mission is to create a comfortable and technologically advanced urban environment. The '5 Years Together' conference is not only a review of achievements but also a step toward determining the next actions for building a sustainable and integrated transport system in Uzbekistan."
The event was supported by UZCARD, which acted as the general sponsor. The cooperation with the leading national payment system highlights the importance of consolidating efforts between the transport and financial sectors to develop the country’s digital infrastructure.
