Attempts to import and sell drugs from neighboring countries were prevented in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Employees of the State Security Service and the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan prevented attempts to import and sell drugs from neighboring countries.

As a result of operations in Ferghana region, 27.57 kg of hashish and 3.97 kg of opium were discovered in the apartment of a resident of Tashlak district. These drugs, according to the services, were smuggled from Tajikistan.

In another case, a resident of Kurgantepe district of Andijan region, in collusion with a resident of Kyrgyzstan, was detained while trying to sell 1.8 kg of mephedrone for US$80,000. Also, another 2.7 kg of mephedrone, which was smuggled from Kyrgyzstan, was seized from his house.

In the third case, in the Andijan region, when checking a car, the potent drugs Regapen and Tropicamide, brought from Kyrgyzstan, were discovered.

Criminal cases have been opened on all three facts, and an investigation is underway.
