Assets of credit unions of Uzbekistan makes up 368.4 billion soums
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 1 April 2011, there were 122 operating credit unions in Uzbekistan, which are carrying out their activity according to the Law of “On credit unions”.

According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, as of 1 April 2011, the number of credit unions’ members has reached 225,957, 220 713 (97.7%) of them were individuals and individual businesses. The volume of credit unions’ assets made up 368.4 billion soums.

In January-March 2011credit unions provided credits for 151 billion soums, of which 144.6 billion soums (95.7% of the total volume) were issued for individuals and individual businesses, and 6.5 billion soums (4.3%) – legal persons. The volume of leasing services made up 298 million soums.

The credit unions issued 1.287 billion soums of legal entities, working in trade and catering, 872 million soums to industrial enterprises, 172 million soums to legal entities, rendering transport and communication services, and 86 million soums to agriculture sector. The loans for 4.041 billion soums were allocated to other industries.

As of 1 April 2011, the balance of deposits at credit unions of Uzbekistan reached 265.8 billion soums, of which 239.4 billion soums fell to share of individuals and individual businesses.
