Asian Games: Judoka Rishod Sobirov wins first gold medal for Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Judoka Rishod Sobirov won the first gold medal for Uzbekistan at the Sixteenth Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, on Tuesday, 16 November 2010.

Rishod Sobirov defeated all his opponents in weight category up to 60 kg and reached final, where he faced Japan’s Hioaki Hiraoka. Sobirov bettered Japanese judo to win the first gold medal for Uzbekistan.

Currently, athletes of Uzbekistan won twelve medals – one gold, five silver and six bronze medals.
