Sports 29/09/2014 Asian Games 2014: Uzbekistan wins two gold medals

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Members of Uzbekistan national team on kayak and canoe won five medals of the Asian Games in Incheon (South Korea), of which two are gold medals.

Two time world champion Vadim Menkov won a gold medal of the Asian Games in Canoe Singles in the distance for 1,000 meters with the result of 3 minutes and 57.403 seconds.

Another representative of Uzbekistan Alexey Mochalov clinched another gold medal of the Asiad at Kayak Singles in the distance for 1,000 meters with the result 3 minutes and 39.878 seconds.

Ernest Irnazarov finished in the second place with the result of 36.531 seconds in the Kayak Singles in the distance for 200 meters.

In the Canoe Double’s competition for 1000 meters, Serik Mirbekov and Gerasim Kochnev won the bronze medal for Uzbekistan with the result 3 minutes and 47.65 seconds.

Sergey Borzov, Vycheslav Gorn, Aleksey Mochalov and Aleksandr Torpin became bronze medal winners in Kayak Four in the distance for 1,000 meters.

Currently, Uzbekistan won three gold, five silver and 11 bronze medals at the Asian Games.
