Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Asia Trans Gas, an Uzbek-Chinese joint venture, will complete construction of first line of Uzbekistan-China gas pipeline in December, which will be used to transit Turkmen gas to China through Uzbekistan.

Currently, the venture laid over half of gas pipeline and it will complete first line of gas pipeline in August. The pipeline will commission the line in the first quarter, gazeta.uz reported.

In early 2009, Asia Trans Gas JV signed contact on construction of gas pipeline with China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau and China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation (CPECC), as well as Swiss Zeromax GmbH. Chinese companies are building gas pipeline from Gazli (Bukhara region) to Kazakhstan, while Zeromax constructs line from Turkmenistan to Gazli. Chinese firms also construct gas compression station.
