Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On the eve of Independence Day, with the support of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the Development of Tourism, the Sogdiana art center opened its doors in the capital.

The official opening ceremony was held on 30 August. It was attended by representatives of ministries and departments of the republic, artists and art historians, representatives of the media and visitors to the center.

At the opening, acting Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism, Akbarov Saidakbarhon said: “We see that the initiators and leaders invested enormous energy and love in the creation of the center. We hope that this center will become one of the important and interesting objects for visiting tourists.”

The modern center of fine and applied art was created for visiting citizens, foreign and local tourists, lovers of national crafts and paintings. 23 workshops, showrooms, an art gallery and a creative studio - all this is located on 1600 squares of a comfortable art center.

In the center you can find everything from a beshik cradle to various souvenirs and household items. The center also presents special materials for their manufacture, since it is planned to conduct various master classes from eminent artists.

Another feature of the center is that any craftsman who wants to can put up his products for sale here.

“We are family craftsmen from Bukhara, we produce national costumes and woolen carpets. When we learned that an art center was opening in the capital, we came and rented a store here, where we started selling our products,” Yunus Kuchimov said.

Also, the Sogdiana art center has created all the amenities for visiting tourists - organized photo zones and food zones, where it is possible to get acquainted with a variety of Uzbek national dishes.
