Arbitrators discuss arbitration system, improve negotiations skills
Arbitration Development Center under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan organized a seminar “Arbitration courts in Uzbekistan: practical aspects of the activity and perspectives of development” in Tashkent on 17 October.

About 30 arbitrators participated at the seminar, which was held within the joint project of UNDP and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan “Supporting to the development of arbitration courts and other alternative methods of dispute settlement in the Republic of Uzbekistan” (Arbitration Project).

The event, which was carried out by specialists of the Arbitration Development Center, was dedicated to current affairs and perspectives of development of the arbitration system in Uzbekistan, practical aspects of arbitration activity, advantages of arbitration, execution of the decision of the arbitration courts, etc.

Arbitrators also learned how to hold negotiations, their methods and find mutual gain during negotiations, which was introduced recently to the seminars, organized by the Center.

Shavkat Juraboev, manager of Arbitration Project, said: “It is important to arbitrators to have skills and knowledge on negotiations. Good negotiator will make sure that both parties of dispute satisfied with the mediation, which will surely increase popularity of arbitration and mediation.”
