APIC 100 index shows growth in August

Center on improvement of antimonopoly policy under the State Demonopolization Committee of Uzbekistan prepared Business Activity Index for August 2010 – APIC 100. The index was prepared on data provided by 100 companies.
APIC index for August comprised 60.4 points, or grew by 1.4 points compared to July (59 points). At the same time, the expected APIC index for September was more optimistic and made up 68.7 points.
Business Activity Index in industry sector (APIC 100) was developed in July 2010 and calculated based on survey of 100 large and medium businesses. The APIC 100 replaced the Index APIC 50 (based on survey of 50 enterprises).
The index higher than 50 demonstrates the growth of business activity and general positive trend, lower than 50 shows recession.
The index is calculated based on 5 basic indicators, such as new orders, production volume and realization, employment and ready products at warehouse.
