Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At an extraordinary session of the Kengash of People's Deputies of the Namangan region, held on 18 December, a new khokim of Namangan and deputy khokims of the region were appointed.

According to the press service of the regional khokimiyat, Anvarjon Otakhodjaev was appointed to the post of khokim of Namangan. Previously, he served as khokim of the Chartak district of the Namangan region.

Anvarjon Otakhodjaev replaced Gofurjon Jamalov at this post, who was transferred to the post of deputy khokim of Namangan region for construction, communications, utilities, ecology and landscaping issues.

Also at this session, Jamshed Khatamov was appointed deputy khokim of Namangan region for relations with public and religious organizations.
