Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 April, in Washington, DC, as part of the spring meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a working meeting was held between the Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia Antonella Bassani and a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by the Director General of the Agency for Strategic Reforms under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shukhrat Vafaev.

The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in various socio-economic areas, as well as current and future projects implemented by the government of the country with the financial and technical assistance of the Bank.

Ms. Bassani stressed that the World Bank will continue to provide comprehensive support to the authorities in their efforts to implement macroeconomic reforms, transform state-owned enterprises and banks, modernize the energy sector, and develop a green economy in the countr.
