Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The next, 18th batch of the drug against hepatitis “C” Sofosbuvir-400 mg in the amount of 5,600 packages was delivered to Tashkent from Egypt, Dunyo news agency reported.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Cairo, the drugs were sent to the Research Institute of Virology of the Ministry of Health of our country. They will be used free of charge by patients undergoing treatment at this medical institution.

Some 800,000 units of this medicine, provided to Uzbekistan so far by the Egyptian government, will satisfy the need for treatment of 133,000 patients.

This humanitarian action is carried out in accordance with the agreements reached during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Egypt on 20-21 February 2023, and negotiations with the Egyptian Ministry of Health. Humanitarian assistance helps to provide support to hepatitis patients and their treatment at state expense.
