Andijancable plans to export goods for US$28.2m in 2010
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Andijancable, an Uzbek-Russian joint venture in form of open joint stock company, will increase export volume by 35% in 2010.

According to Tashkent office, the export will reach US$28.2 million in line with the business plan in 2010. At the same time, the joint venture’s export volume reached US$20 million-US$30 million level from 2006.

It is expected that total growth of goods production is forecasted at 116%. According to accurate data, the production of goods is expected at the volume of over 75 billion soums in 2010.

The main share of exports fell to share cable-conductor production with copper thread. The enterprise increased export of waterblocked cable, lubricants, LAN-cable, jelly-filled urban telephone cable, woven metal nets.

According to the Uzbek Commodity Exchange, it is expected sustainable demand for cables and anti-burning power leads, armored cable for high power load, household wires, adapted to modern construction technologies.

In line with business-plan of Andijancable, the localization level of ready products, spare parts and ready goods will reach at the level of 31% to 81%. The import-replacement effect will reach US$21 million. The prime cost of the goods decreased by 21.6%.

The enterprise commissioned new technological line of NIEHOFF (Germany) in 2010. After the launch of new equipment, the capacities of the joint venture on production of flexible wires grew by 60%. In line with the programme of measures on modernization and technological equipment of Andijancable capacities for 2010-2014, approved by the government, the venture will increase capacities on production of car wires up to 200,000 square kilometers a year.

Construction of Andijan Cable Plant started in 1981. The first line was commissioned in 1985. Russian Farial acquired 51% stake in the enterprises for US$1.151 million in 2001. Besides, the Russian company received 19% shares to assets management. In 2001, Andijancable OJSC was reorganized into enterprise of investment investments.

Annual investments of Farial to enterprise grew from 2.6 billion soums in 2005 to 4.8 billion soums in 2009. The enterprise attracted long-term loans for 6.3 billion soums to increase turnover assets. At the same time, the growth of long-term assets of Andijancable makes up 12.5% in average. Thanks to investments of major shareholder, the venture started to produce 35 new types of products. The company has offices in Samara, Almaty and Bishkek. Andijancable is member of two structures, uniting cable producers, - CIS Association Elektrokable and Interkabel.

In 2009, the enterprise produced 125,000 km of isolated cables, which meets 100% of the enterprise capacities. According to the UzEX experts’ evaluations, the share of Andijancable in internal cable market of Uzbekistan rose from 21.7% in 2005 to 48% in 2010.
