Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on November 18 approving the establishment of the Andijan State Technical Institute, according to the Ministry of Justice.
The new institute will be formed by merging three educational institutions: the Andijan Institute of Mechanical Engineering, the Andijan Institute of Economics and Construction, and the Andijan Faculty of the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry.
The institute will train specialists in fields such as automotive engineering, electrical engineering, energy, textile industry, mechanical engineering, and construction to meet the region’s demand for qualified professionals.
All students currently enrolled in the merged institutions will continue their studies at the new institute, and diplomas will be issued under the name of the Andijan State Technical Institute. Starting from this academic year, graduates will receive diplomas from the new institution.
From the 2025/2026 academic year, the institute plans to expand its programs to include fields such as energy engineering, artificial intelligence, mechatronics, and robotics.
Additionally, a new system for assessing student performance and teaching effectiveness based on international standards will be introduced in the upcoming academic year.
High-achieving undergraduate and graduate students will have the opportunity to study in separate groups with instruction in foreign languages.
