An Uzbek-Afghan business forum was held in Kabul

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A business forum and negotiations in B2B format between representatives of the business communities of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan were held in Kabul, Dunyo news agency reports.

The event was organized as part of the visit of the delegation of the Association of Exporters of Uzbekistan with the support of the embassy and the Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Investment. More than 150 entrepreneurs participated in the forum.

Chairman of the Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, Muhammad Yunus Mohmand, noted that trade and economic relations between the countries are developing rapidly, expressing gratitude to the leadership of Uzbekistan for the created privileges for representatives of the private sector in Afghanistan.

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Yodgorhoja Shodmonov said that 586 companies with Afghan capital are already operating in Uzbekistan, including 114 joint ventures and 472 companies with 100% foreign capital. He also clarified the implementation of 17 joint investment projects with a total value of US$111.3 million.

The head of the diplomatic mission provided Afghan businessmen with information about investment opportunities in Uzbekistan.

Chairman of the Association of Exporters of Uzbekistan Yorkin Malikov noted the huge potential for strengthening bilateral trade and economic cooperation and expressed confidence in concluding investment and export contracts.

At the forum, business representatives were given the opportunity to study the conditions for doing business in various sectors of the economy of Uzbekistan, discuss prospects for cooperation and consider specific projects.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed to conclude mutual trade agreements.
