An opening ceremony of the Amirsoy ski resort takes place

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 21 December, in Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region, an opening ceremony of the Amirsoy ski resort took place. The event was opened by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov.

“The leading design companies from Italy, Germany, Austria, Argentina, Spain and Denmark were involved in the implementation and launch of this ski complex. The ski complex is built in accordance with modern world standards, and today it is fully ready for launch for you. The ski resort is conveniently located at the location, equipped with high-quality equipment, all the necessary conditions for the functioning of the complex are created, which, in turn, ensures the safety of visitors to the facility. The project was implemented by the Andorran company PGI Management, which has extensive experience in this area,” Aziz Abduhakimov said.

After that, musical congratulations were sounded by Sabina Mustaeva, DJ Petishka and Bella, the Sharkoniy group, Mr. Akrom with his drum show and Sergey Zlotnikov’s Double Dance Show. The folklore show of the People’s Baklava and the “Big pilaf”, presented by the famous group of chefs led by Bahriddin Chusti, gave the holiday a special atmosphere.

It should be noted that, since 2018, Amirsoy has been carrying out large-scale construction work on 892 hectares of land, which is designed for 580 places. The project provides for the creation of 300 new jobs, and its cost is 100.0 million US dollars. The resort project will be implemented in two stages.

The first phase is planned to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2019, and the second phase in the third quarter of 2022. In addition, the Austrian company Doppelmayr Seilbahnen GmbH has built two modern cableways with a length of 2193 meters and a capacity of 2400 people per hour.

In the winter recreation area, under the supervision of specialists from Argentina, Spain and Denmark, 15 km of ski roads of varying complexity were built. Four of them start at the top of the resort, and the longest track is 3,550 meters.

The system of artificial snow production will extend the ski season from November to April. For lovers of winter sports, skiers and snowboarders, there are paths of different levels and all conditions for skiing are created.

In addition, an entertainment area has been created on the territory of the ski resort, which includes tubing, hiking, special walking tours in the snow, sleigh rides and ATVs.

Separate zones for a special children’s playground have also been created. Currently, the first phase of the project is completed, and the Amirsoy recreation area is ready for opening to the general public.

The second phase of the project, called “Western Amirsoy”, is expected to be completed and put into operation in the third quarter of 2022.

By the end of 2019, about 1,464.5 thousand tourists are expected to visit Tashkent region, including 205.1 thousand foreign tourists. It is expected that the number of tourists in 2020 will increase by 10.3% compared to last year, including the number of foreign tourists by 16.6%.

In particular, an increase in the number of tourists by 32,800 units is forecasted thanks to the launch of the Amirsoy tourist complex. It should be noted that the launch of the Amirsoy ski resort will contribute to the loss of relevance of the concept of “tourist seasonality” in Uzbekistan.
