Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - An extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Kurash Association was held in Termez.

The meeting was chaired by IKA President Haider Farman and was attended by vice presidents and members of the IKA Executive Committee from Asia, Africa, Europe and Pan America.

The members of the executive committee discussed important issues of the development of Kurash on the world stage, including the participation of Kurash in various continental and regional Games.

The members of the Executive Committee expressed gratitude to the Government of Uzbekistan and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Honorary President of the IKA Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the constant all-round assistance to the activities of the IKA in the international development of Kurash. Another evidence of this was the adoption in November 2020 of the Resolution of the President of Uzbekistan on the development of Kurash on the world stage.

The members of the Executive Committee decided to create a new post of vice-president of the IKA to interact with the ancestor country of Kurash - Uzbekistan. IKA President Haider Farman proposed to appoint Abdujabbor Abduvokhidov, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, to this newly created position. Board members unanimously supported this proposal.

At the beginning of the meeting, First Deputy Chairman of the NOC of Uzbekistan Ravshan Irmatov, Secretary General of the NOC Oybek Kasimov and Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports of Uzbekistan Avazjon Karimov took part in the meeting of the Executive Committee as guests of honor.
