An evening of Uzbek dance takes place in Israel

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 July 2019, the Oriental Dance Ensemble Zvezda Vostoka, organized by the professional dancer and choreographer, winner of international festivals and dances of the peoples of the world, born in Uzbekistan Janna Kadyrova, was organized at the Palace of Culture of Ashkelon.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, over 300 people from the public, Israeli culture and art, the diaspora of Bukharan Jews and people from Uzbekistan took part in the event.

As part of the cultural evening, children in national costumes performed a series of dances, including well-known Uzbek musical compositions. The culmination of the evening was the performance of Janna Kadyrova herself to the “Arabian Tango” song by Batyr Zakirov.

The mayor of Ashkelon, Tomer Glam, particularly noted the contribution of the Artistic Director of the “Star of the East” ensemble to the spread of the Uzbek people’s rich culture through the music and dance art, which the Israeli public perceived with great enthusiasm. In his opinion, this creative team, in which representatives of various age and ethnic groups are engaged, is a unique platform for promoting cultural ties between the friendly people of Israel and Uzbekistan.

In turn, Janna Kadyrova said that she intends to continue to actively participate in the popularization of Uzbekistan, which she will always call her Motherland. Thanks largely to this, she founded the Star of the East ensemble in Israel, in which more than 100 children study Uzbek art today, the youngest of whom recently turned 3 years old.

A native of the city of Margilan, before moving to Israel in 2002, she worked for many years as the chief choreographer of the Fergana region, she continues to maintain close ties with the republic, which she plans to visit again in late July.
