Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Presidential Resolution “On additional measures to develop the protection, scientific study and promotion of intangible cultural heritage” was adopted.

According to the Resolution, from 1 April 2024:

20 individuals who are carriers of unique and (or) endangered examples of intangible cultural heritage will be identified, assistance will be provided to them, and indicators for assessing their activities will be determined.Individuals who are carriers of examples of intangible cultural heritage who fulfill these indicators are rewarded monthly in the amount of 5 million soums;

  Every year, government contracts are awarded for the creation of 50 audiovisual works for the purpose of recording and widely disseminating examples of intangible cultural heritage.

According to the Resolution, examples of intangible cultural heritage will be developed on the basis of an integral continuous system of “preparation - training - recreation - preservation - popularization”.

The activities of scientific, practical and creative schools will be established for the integrated development of examples of intangible cultural heritage.

An ethno-folklore laboratory will be created at the Research Institute of Cultural Studies and Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Every year from 2024, the Institute will be allocated, on the basis of a paid contract, at least 3 quotas for basic doctoral studies, and at least 2 quotas for research trainees.

Also, annually from 2024:

scientific workers engaged in research work in the fields of “cultural studies” and “intangible cultural heritage”, in particular in the arts of maqom and bakhshi, are sent to foreign higher educational and scientific institutions to defend the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD);

in March, events of the “Month of National Values” and folk festivals will be held.

By 1 October 2024, the electronic platform “Qadriyat” and its mobile application will be created.

The platform contains information about persons who are carriers of samples of intangible cultural heritage, including the arts of maqom and bakhshi, as well as those transmitting these samples, and their list
